Sports Injury Clinics
Osteopathy has particular insights and detailed understanding of anatomy and physiology and biomechanics. This lends itself well to offering strategies to deal with sports injury.Accurate diagnosis of asymmetric biomechanics is essential. It also leads to identification of potential injury sites that can generate tendonitis. Tendonitis is the damaged sustained to the tendonus attachments that join the muscle to the bone, they can become damaged as a result of trauma compression and friction. This causes an inflammatory response to occur which left untreated will become chronic and lead to a severe deterioration in the tendonus tissue, that becomes very difficult to remedy. The body in an attempt to repair will generate new blood vessels (neovascularisation) the jury is still out, however, as to whether this is a response to damage or the result of damage what does seem consistent is that the abscence of the neovasculariasation coincides with the symptoms of the tendonitis diminishing and resolving.
Osteopaths can guide you through this sometimes tricky healing process and help you recondition your tissues so that you can return to your chosen sporting activity.
