Just ring 01371 875217 and speak with our friendly reception staff who will book an appointment for you at your earliest convenience. We can usually offer you an appointment with in 24-48 hrs. Reception opens from 9am until 1700pm Monday to Friday so ring between these times to arrange your appointments. Outside of these times you will have to leave a message and we will ring you back as soon as we can. You can arrange appointments outside normal practice hours, just ring through and ask what is available.Your first appointment will last between 40 mins & 90 mins depending on the complexity of your problem.
At your first appointment you will be asked to fill in contact details in reception. The osteopath will then invite you through to the consultation room.
We then take an extensive and detailed case history inquiring in to all areas of your physical activities, medical history, to build up a holistic picture of you and your life, work style, diet, rest etc. We listen very carefully to what you say, this helps us to better understand what your problem/ pain is and what is the likley cause.
After completeing the patient interview you will be asked to remove clothing that covers the sore part of your anatomy. It is wise to wear conservative underwear or items of clothing that reveal, say, the lower back that you feel comfortable in. We do not provide gowns as they can often get in the way at critcal points during treatment.
Patient confidentiality is extremely important and it is essential for trust to develop within the patient practitioner relationship.
We then may well do some clinical testing to create a start point for further assement going forward, ie blood pressure, reflexes, muscle testing, listen to your chest or abdomen and when necessary or a look at your retinas or into your ears.
Finally, treatment will be given depending on what would be best for you.
You will give your fee(Unfortunately we do not yet have card payment facilities available so cash or cheque are the menthod of payment) to the osteopath which is £48.00 and £44.00 for further treatment sessions. The osteopath will give a rough guide as to what to expect in terms of number of treatments that you will need, to achieve resolution of your problems. On your way out you can book an appointment with reception. Appointments are also available in Great Notley Braintree for all yourback pain requirements
